Bladder Stones in Dogs and How to Prevent Them

Bladder stones in dogs, just the same as in any other species, are composed of tightly compacted minerals that are deposited from the urine. They tend to grow in time and cannot be eliminated with the urine. The best way is to prevent them forming. This is easy once you know the cause. A system of natural dogs health care will not just prevent them, it can also cure them.

Although there are different sorts of bladder stones in dogs, they all come down to the fact that there is an unnatural supply of minerals in the urine, that are being deposited out before the urine is eliminated.

Some bladder stones can form along with the occurrence of a metabolic disease or an infection. This does not mean the disease or infection is to blame. It simply means that your dog’s immune system is well below par and so many problems are likely to occur at the same time.

The early formation of bladder stones does not usually cause a problem. But the larger they grow, the more problematic they can become. When the body tries to expel the stones down the urethra, they often cause pain. Sometimes blood is present in the urine.

Other symptoms that can occur at the same time are vomiting, weakness and lethargy.

Veterinary diagnosis is with urine analysis and palpation. Veterinary treatment may come from trying to flush out the stones or with something which will dissolve the stones. If these are not successful, then an operation is advised. Antibiotics are normally prescribed, but as the infection is not the cause, this can worsen the problem.

All veterinary medicines are liver toxic, suppress the immune system and don’t deal with the cause of the problem.

Let’s look at one of the greatest causes of bladder stones in dogs.

Commercial dog food is made up of very low quality animal protein (usually the product of rendering plants) and is high in poor quality carbohydrates and animal fat. None of this provides the nutrients so critical to a dog’s good health.

The dog food manufacturers are aware of this, so they supplement the ‘food’. They supplement it with isolated and synthetic nutrients that are created in a laboratory. These are unnatural and cannot be properly absorbed or utilised. The body does not know what to do with these ‘supplements’. If the dog is lucky, they will simply be flushed out of his system. More commonly, they create mischief such as kidney and bladder stones.

You can prevent bladder stones in your dog, first by feeding him a quality, natural, species specific diet. If he already has some stones that are causing a problem, these can be treated effectively with a natural form of health care that does not involve expensive and risky procedures, such as homeopathy.

The combination of a quality, natural diet and natural, safe and effective medicines can be unbeatable. Both are strong parts of any natural dogs health care system.
